Cain backing Atkinson

I came to know Maurice Atkinson, candidate for Bibb County's District 4 Commission seat, during my campaign for U.S. Senate. Maurice is a man of unquestioned character and integrity. As commissioner, Maurice will be a tireless advocate for budget restraint and responsibility. He will always seek common sense solutions to the issues most important to Bibb County.

I have no doubt that as Bibb County's next District 4 commissioner; Atkinson will bring the same energy, enthusiasm and dedication to the citizens of Bibb County that he brought to my campaign. District 4 voters have an opportunity to elect a commission candidate who will always place their best interests first. That candidate is Maurice Atkinson. On Election Day, I urge you to vote for Atkinson for Bibb County District 4 commissioner.

Two years ago, due to redistricting of the Georgia Legislative districts, I came to Macon as a candidate for the state Senate in District 16. I have been proud to serve Macon and I hope I have contributed something to the city where I attended law school, Mercer University.

I reacquainted myself with many old friends and made many new one, one of who is Maurice Atkinson, Republican candidate for the Bibb County Commission, District 4. As I came to know Maurice, I realized what a jewel Macon had in a person of high integrity who wanted to see his city improve and make a better life for his fellow citizens.

I hope the voters in Macon will support Maurice because he will be a great asset to you and can help make Macon a better place for all its citizens. I commend Maurice Atkinson to you the voters and hope you will vote for him.

Support my son

I'm writing to ask readers to vote for my son, Maurice J. Atkinson, for Bibb County commissioner, District 4. He will do an excellent job. Maurice is a man of integrity and perseverance.

When he was in the Army I received a phone call from his commanding officer. He called to tell me Maurice was in the hospital and had been diagnosed with muscular dystrophy. He said he had been admitted because his legs gave out on a two-mile run. He told me that Maurice would not quit; he crawled until he finished the two miles. He continued to tell me of his commitment and perseverance in his pursuit of excellence. I am so proud of his determination.

Maurice has a long history of leadership and service to his community. His selfless determination will be an asset to Bibb County.

Please vote for my son. I'm proud of him.
